10am - 3pm

The basis of all good gardens is good and healthy soil. When the soil is in good condition all other aspects of horticulture are far easier to manage.

We will look at what soil actually is, how it is formed, and what makes for nourishing soil. We will move on to the creation of compost, an extremely valuable and useful resource in improving and maintaining healthy soil.

Discover how companion planting can help your garden thrive naturally. Learn which plants grow well together, how they can improve soil health, deter pests, and boost growth, all without the need for chemicals.

Ideal for beginners and experienced gardeners alike, this session offers simple, practical tips you can easily use at home.

Lunch included.

Warm clothing is recommended as the garden buildings can be cold.
