Saturday 16th January 2027

10am - 3pm

Pruning fruit trees can feel intimidating. Many gardeners worry they’ll cut too much, cut the wrong branch, or damage the tree’s future growth. This workshop is designed to remove that uncertainty completely.

This is a practical, hands-on session where you’ll learn exactly how to prune fruit trees with confidence and understanding not just what to cut, but why you’re cutting it.

We’ll cover:

  • how fruit trees respond to pruning

  • when to prune different types of fruit trees

  • how to improve fruiting and shape without overcutting

  • common mistakes that reduce harvests and how to avoid them

  • the difference between formative, maintenance, and rejuvenation pruning

You’ll be working directly on real trees, guided step-by-step, so you can practise each technique safely.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a clear understanding of how to manage your own fruit trees without hesitation, guesswork, or fear of getting it wrong.

Lunch included.

Warm and waterproof clothing is recommended.
