10am - 3pm

Does gardening seem like another world of strange looking tools, never ending work and a bewildering array of plants?

In this hands-on beginner course we will take the confusion away and give you a clear, practical foundation in gardening by learning how to choose the right plants for your space, understand your soil, and master the basics of planting, watering, ongoing care, and which are the essential tools to buy.

You’ll learn by doing, working directly in the garden so you can build real confidence with simple, essential skills.

We’ll cover various areas including:

  • understanding soil

  • choice of plants and seeds

  • how to care for seeds and young plants

  • how to manage mature plants and gardens

  • how to keep plants healthy

By the end of the day you will understand what to do in your own garden without feeling overwhelmed and unsure.

Lunch included.

Warm clothing is recommended as the garden buildings can be cold.
